The dragon was reimagined as a wyvern by Alpha Chi Sigma's designers, and this new creature had no front arms. The wyvern then became the official mascot for the Alpha Chi Sigma professional chemistry fraternity. Next, the fraternity's designers decided to add Greek letters to the front of the wyvern, giving it an even more distinctive appearance.
