Axon wing spar with balsa frame and brace cutouts

thingiverse

This wing spar, measuring 177mm in chord length, is designed specifically for constructing a film-covered wing on an Axon FPV flyer. The structure includes bracing made from spruce and balsa at the center of gravity (COG) and trailing edge. Additionally, further cutouts are incorporated to accommodate 1.2mm balsa sheets on both leading and trailing edges. A rectangular hole close to the leading edge allows for a 5g servo installation, which can be secured through gluing or screwing from behind. The design is scalable to accommodate larger wing sections or by reinstalling a 6mm square carbon rod in the center spar. Printing instructions include a 20% infill rate, two layers, and reduced travel speed of 40-45 for optimal filament flow through tight corners.
