Axon terminals, also known as synaptic boutons or terminal boutons, represent the ending points of an axon's telodendria. Axons, or nerve fibers, are long projections from a neuron's cell body that transmit electrical impulses, called action potentials, away to other neurons, muscle cells, or glands. Neurons form intricate networks and utilize electrochemical signals as well as neurotransmitter chemicals for transmitting impulses across synapses, the small gaps separating neighboring neurons. The neuron containing the axon terminal is referred to as the presynaptic neuron. Scenes are prepared for rendering in 3ds Max 2018 with no plug-ins required; export options include .max, .fbx, and .obj formats. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
