Axminster Band Saw Guard Plate (no Holes)

Axminster Band Saw Guard Plate (no Holes)

thingiverse

Fresh start Monday! I'm introducing an axminster band saw guard plate, created on April 20th, 2015, as part of Design a Day reboot. This guard plate broke badly - and for good reason! What went wrong? My design didn't meet expectations. As for my Design a Day project, I lost enthusiasm, which ultimately led to this outcome. Time for me to reboot again! Notice the 45-degree chamfer on one side of the bedplate - it allows users to adjust their cutting angles by tilting. If possible, use CNC machines instead of 3D printing; if not, be sure to apply acetone paint before usage. This is the basis for my next "Design a Day" project: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:780908 The new design includes additional holes that the original lacked.
