Axle Mount for Spool Holder

Axle Mount for Spool Holder

thingiverse

Hi there! This is my first official little project, so please be patient if something goes wrong. I did some other things before and will add them here too, but I still consider myself a beginner. I recently got a free cabinet that perfectly fits my 3D Printer. It also had a compartment for mounting filament rolls. All I needed were proper mounts for the axles. Requirements: 1. One 10mm (or smaller) axle and two matching nuts per roll to mount. The length should be at least 10-12mm shorter than the space you want to mount it between, as the axle mount base plate is 5mm thick and you need one on each side. 4 4mm screws for wood mounting to secure the axle holder. 1 Spool Holder The spool holder itself is a remix of an excellent and simple design I found on thingiverse. There are probably many great spool adapters available, so just pick one that fits on your axle. I used this one before with the original holder that came with the printer and I liked it a lot, so I kept it with some modifications. It was necessary to increase the axle diameter as I had tons of spare 10mm axles. Additional material was added to increase stability with the new diameter, and the threading was removed because it would cause problems using it the way I do now. I will add the remix here later on. If you like this, let me know! Happy Printing!
