Axial Wraith front frame chop
thingiverse
I designed these parts to reinforce the front of my Wraith chassis after I cut the front portion to allow for full suspension travel. I initially only tied in the shock mounts, but found I could stiffen the entire front end significantly by connecting to the hood bar in the cage. You can see in my pictures, I cut the chassis in front of the shock mounts, and just ahead of the stock receiver box tray. This does not retain use of the stock bumper. This was initially designed to be 3d printed using the "Wraith_Chassis_cut_support_v2" file. Note, this file is 1 side. You will need to mirror and print the opposite side in your slicer as well to complete the conversion. I used small zip-ties to connect the plates to the hood bar.To tie the support plates together across the chassis, use 50mm standoffs. I have included STLs for cross bracing as well. Note, the v1 crossbrace is designed to work with the .dxf file. The included .dxf file is for use if you want to have the plate cut by send cut send or similar service. I had a set made from 3mm carbon fiber. Use the "support_spacer" part to fill the gap at the lower mounting point if a cut plate is used.
