Axial Wraith Flat Skid Plate

I designed this skid plate and side plates for additional link mounting options on my Wraith Spawn. The side plates are included as a template to be transferred to aluminum or Carbon. I designed this around .090" 6061 aluminum but slightly thicker material could be used if desired. This will require angled rod ends, or other link adjustments to avoid binding with the wider upper link mount position. For chassis mounting, I used these press-in inserts from mcmaster-carr which you can see in one of the pictures. https://www.mcmaster.com/94100A110/ . You could drill/tap the mounting holes, but I'm not sure they will hold up long term on the thin material. I designed this to be mounted as shown in my pictures, but it can also be mounted flush with the chassis if preferred. In that case, just don't drill the additional holes that are not needed. I would suggest using 1 middle mount hole per side to fix the side plates to the skid, and mount the skid plate to the chassis (through the side plates) using the other 3 screws per side.
