Axial Flux Generator
thingiverse
This rough draft outlines a framework for an axial flux generator, a non-commutated turbine suitable for home construction, particularly wind turbines. However, it is recommended not to begin making the generator yet as more instructions will be provided upon progress with the project. The basic steps include: 1) fabricating two rotors - placing magnets of same polarity in each and attaching the caps; 2) creating a stator by printing it and positioning wire coils in designated holes, securing them permanently using epoxy or similar adhesives; 3) assembling the rotor atop the stator, followed by placing a lazy susan bearing on top of the stator; 4) securing the upper rotor onto the assembly with caution due to high magnetic force; and finally, 5) attaching it to a resistor and an object that can turn. More detailed instructions will be posted as the project advances.
