I wanted to craft a shape that pushed my machine's print capacity to its limits. I have a Printrbot Simple, so it has a cube-shaped build volume. Printing a full cube would take an eternity, so I designed this sleek star-like shape. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 0% Notes: This print took about 7 hours to complete. It was sliced using Simplify3D with supports added only from the plate. How I Designed This I created this design on Tinkercad and it's available for review. It's composed of thin cylinders arranged along the axial diagonals of a cube. I intersected that with a hollow cube of the correct size.
