AXA Window Handle Replacement
thingiverse
This is a replacement window handle designed specifically for an early 1990s AXA casement window model. The original became severely brittle and eventually broke due to UV embrittlement. To install this new part, I had to carefully drill out the original rivet pin that held the old handle in place. You will need to drill a 5.5mm hole into the aluminum handle to accommodate the snap-fit pins for the replacement part. A drill bit size of 0.228 inches worked perfectly. In order to print this new window handle, you will need to print three parts: two pins and one handle. Unfortunately, there is no ideal print orientation, so you may need to use supports during printing. The pins are designed to snap into place once inserted. To secure the new handle in place, I used a large slip-joint plier to snap the pins all the way down. This ensures a tight fit and prevents any movement of the replacement part. I have included three different file types for remixing: .3mf, .stl, and Solidworks .prt files.
