AXA Mitutoyo Toolpost Indicator Holder (axial and radial)
thingiverse
This is a tool post dial indicator holder for the metal lathe. It is a remix from @Blondihacks https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2830764 The following things were changed: - designed for my Mitutoyo dial indicator (2046a, but i think many other Mitutoyo indicators share the same housing). The fit is very snug, and the indicator can be pressed against the holder while being installed, thus guaranteeing the best positioning (no cosine error) - optimized the position of the indicator in relation to the tool post, for maximum reach on smaller lathes. - included a relief on the underside, to allow for lower indicator position (in line with the spindle axis on my 8*16 lathe) and tool post rotation. Print with support! - included both axial and radial variants - included a m8 threaded hole + printed m8 hand-nut, so to be able to adjust the height on the tool post (just like all the other toolholders) - included a M6 hand nut with captive m6 hex nut to secure the dial indicator. thanks to the longer reach, the textured hand nut sticks out from under the indicator, so no tools needed to install it. be sure to include a "pause at height" command compatible with your printer, to drop an m6 nut into the print, then resume printing on top of it. - adapted the design to my 250-1XX series toolholders Don't overtighten the m8 grub screw, or you will split the holder apart. Same for the tool post wedge! needed parts: 1x m6 hex nut 1x m6 x 40+mm hex bolt 1x m8 hex nut 1x m8 x 60mm grub screw
