It allows quieter and more efficient operation on the rim and reduces losses at higher speeds. The larger size may decrease light output at lower speeds but should be compatible with modern LED lights. To install, replace the original wheel by slipping this one into place and adjusting its position for rim usage. The skirt helps keep dirt out of bearings, potentially prolonging their life. While not as effective as a hub generator, it's a more affordable option, particularly for bikes like the KMX Cobra with non-standard one-sided front hubs.
