I printed out two of Cybercyclist's very protective fan covers for my FFCP and encountered issues with finishing prints. The filament suddenly stopped flowing. Further investigation revealed that the fan cover had obstructed the print head cooling fans from spinning, causing the filament to overheat and the drive to malfunction. To resolve this problem, I uploaded the fan .stl file to Tinkercad and modified it by creating a 40mm x 1.5 mm hole in the back side of the fan cover. This recess accommodates the fan blades and center. As a result, we have a redesigned fan cover. Cybercyclist's original fan cover can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1594012. I printed the revised fan covers in PETG using 2 shells, 25% Fill, and a 0.30mm nozzle. Two prints together consumed approximately 5m of 1.75mm filament, indicating that one print would require about 2.5 meters of 1.75mm filament.
