AVTronics PPA-300 Speaker Latch

AVTronics PPA-300 Speaker Latch

AVTronics made a fairly decent portable audio sound system. If used correctly and not abused it could last for years. Sadly, our school's unit gets used by many people and at least one of them got in a hurry and destroyed the clip that holds one of the speakers on. This person did not have the fortitude or common decency to own up to it or fix it so I took it home with me and designed a new latch for it. This design replaces the factory clip and spring while bypassing the pins that will no doubt be busted out. The new pivot point is a square void lower and back just a bit. Note: You only need to take out (4) Philips screws on the top side as shown circled in blue and (4) torx screws from the face. No need to remove screws in the frame marked with red. Clearly, the pins need to be small and strong so I used a couple of standard offsets (find them behind the motherboard inside any old computer)
