You place the plastic soda bottle into the smallest innermost ring, then screw on the cap until it's tight. Next, fill the soda bottle with water. Then, fill the glass with water almost to the cap. Place the ring with the soda bottle onto the glass quickly so you don't spill the water. Put your avocado pit down into the center of the ring. When the water level drops, the water will come out of the soda bottle and into the glass, stopping at the same level. You'll never have to worry about filling the water again, except when the soda bottle is empty. I added a new ring, version 6, which has four holes for up to four bottles. This increases the water-filling capacity by up to four times, but it requires printing more caps.
