I fell deeply in love with a stunning design lamp posted by dan3088. You can view it at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:319339. When I first printed the solid metal design, I realized that the design became incredibly weak when printed in ABS. Nevertheless, some beautiful parts were created. I began with just the legs. However, peace by peace, all of the components were redesigned and replaced, even including changing the main body rail to fit a real 220V cable for the LED bulb. Instructions Printed All Parts in 2 Colors I printed all of the lamp's parts in two distinct colors (0.8 mm external layers in natural white and internal parts in dark grey). All of the spacers and nuts were also colored light blue. All of the materials used are ABS from 3D Prima. Special Support Requirements for Printing While printing, it is necessary to make special use of support options. lamp_body_NEW1.stl - NO. Manual supports need to be put for the bottom space only (2 minutes will be sufficient), but adding automatic supports may create difficulties in fitting the electric cable.) lamphack leg NEW1.stl - YES (grey color). lamphack leg NEW1.stl - YES (grey color). I utilized a 20W LED bulb and expect it will not become excessively hot during operation. Please see the post-printing images for more details. Assembly Instructions are Included Two separate zips, Aviation_inspired_desk_lamp NEW1 dual color.zip and Aviation_inspired_desk_lamp NEW1 mono color.zip, include all the necessary files required for printing. Most components can be easily assembled or glued using aceton. Two additional nuts with a 3mm diameter are required to securely attach the lamp's shade and back spacer. Refinishing the Lamp Shade To improve light reflection, you may consider applying a reflective spray-color inside the lamp's shade. It nearly doubled my 20W LED lamp's brightness when used. I utilized brass acrylic spray. Make sure to cover the entire model with plastic in order to prevent any unwanted sanding afterwards. Just two thin layers of the reflective coating should suffice
