Avalon 741 Fan Duct & Mounting Brackets
thingiverse
These are components for an Avalon 741 Miner, including a fan duct designed specifically for noise reduction. The fans on these machines can be extremely loud, so adding approximately 4 feet of 4-inch dryer flex duct made a significant difference in reducing the volume. Several other duct designs are available through Thingiverse, but one was excessively thick and heavy, requiring 16 meters of filament, while another did not fit any standard US or metric duct size. The mounting brackets come in two versions: some have screw holes on the bottom, while others do not have screw holes for the top. I used about half an inch wide Velcro strips, typically employed for securing cable bundles. The top T spacers prevent the two 741s from being pulled together when the Velcro is tightened, and the top L spacers cater to my OCD. The holes are precisely sized for #6 sheet metal screws. The Avalon 741 Miner lacks sufficient lip on its front to create a piece that prevents movement from front to rear. To resolve this issue, I applied a small amount of rubber cement to the areas where the lower L's and T's come into contact with the bottom of the 741. This provides enough resistance to prevent skidding without making it impossible to remove.
