These affordable strap cross bar supports come with cheap rubber covers for easy car contact. However, they do not stay on and can wear through quickly, possibly damaging the car over time. The STL files print out in three parts, creating a platform for each support that encases it tightly. Two standard 3/8 inch bolts (1.5 inch length) secure the support, protecting your car from damage. With the bolts securely fastened, the bottom side accepts a 10mm or greater foam insert provided by you. In the example shown, I sealed the platforms with rubber spray and applied thread locker to nut caps for added security. To affix the foam into the insert, I used hot glue in this instance. These supports are designed specifically for strap cross bars sold by Discountramps on Ebay, possibly also fitting other similar products.
