Automotive Hose Plug
thingiverse
New, better designed 5'16" plugs are now available: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1790509. Please be aware that using printed materials near vehicle fluids can cause unknown interactions, so ensure your PLA or ABS won't mix with or alter any fluid before use. These printable plugs were created for automotive use but work well anywhere. They can stop hoses with an ID of 3/8" up to just below 3/4". If there's interest, I'll consider designing a different grip, but so far, no issues have been reported. Note that the shown prints are unfinished and not yet airtight. Print Settings: Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 40% Notes: I used 0.2mm layers for speed, but better prints require less post-production work. If you're not in a hurry, consider printing at 0.1mm. Best results come from printing straight up with triangle or grid infill. Post-Printing: For optimal performance, sand after printing using 120 grit paper to achieve a uniform surface. In my case, they printed watertight but not airtight; quick sanding can make these plugs as good as molded ones. Start by sanding lengthwise and then wrap the sandpaper around the cone while rotating for an even finish.
