June 2019 DESCRIPTION: I designed this mount specifically for my Z4 soft top engine, ensuring a precise fit to the motor's base cylinder. The mount features four holes at its bottom, allowing secure attachment to the trunk's back wall and maintaining the motor's vertical position with the reservoir positioned at the top. This configuration enables automatic air purging as the system runs. The upper wings of the mount have two holes each, facilitating the use of zip ties to secure the motor in place. It is crucial that you utilize two zip ties for optimal results. Beta testing revealed a notable advantage when using this approach: the mount withstood hot summer temperatures without flexing. In contrast, testers who used only one zip tie experienced issues over time. USE: Proceed with caution and exercise your best judgment. For maximum stability, it is recommended that the base be screwed to metal to firmly secure the motor in operation.
