Various automotive brackets exist in various forms for multiple applications. Specifically, axle brackets are made from ductile cast iron and boast machined bores, bosses, and mounting faces. A slot through one mounting hole enables lateral positioning of the bracket before securing it with a bolt. The front axle, installed between left and right wheels, serves to transmit engine power to the wheels. In four-wheel drive vehicles, it transfers high power specifically to the front wheels.
