Automobile Seat Trash Bag Hook

thingiverse

It's worth debating whether Thingiverse needed another solution for holding trash bags inside cars, given the numerous good options already available. Furthermore, one must question whether someone really needs this at all, considering how effortless it is to remove a headrest and slip a bag handle around the rods. Nonetheless, here's an alternative anyway. This design is specifically tailored for and will likely only work with the extremely thin plastic bags commonly used in retail sales. This hook is designed to fit 13 mm headrest rods, boasting a lightweight construction that requires less than a meter of 1.75 mm filament to print a pair. In practice, it should adequately support light-weight waste accumulation inside an auto. The sample shown in the photos was printed using PLA, but they are undoubtedly ill-suited for summer use in the Sonoran Desert. If you decide to print a pair, consider making one a mirror image (or simply flipping one over), allowing attachment points on opposite sides. Update 11/24/17: I added a version with rounded corners in most areas. With edges rounded, there is less plastic in the hook and it's not as strong. It seems acceptable, but you might want to scale it up a few percent or use more infill.
