I just purchased a Wi-Fi Thermostat BEOK BOT-313 on Amazon to replace the existing Honeywell T40 already installed in our home. This new thermostat allows me to control the heating system from anywhere within the house using a dedicated app on my smartphone. The issue with this type of thermostat is that they are designed to be installed in an electrical box embedded in the wall, due to the presence of electronic components on the back side of the device. My wall did not have a built-in box, and behind our existing thermostat was nothing but a flat surface and wiring, so I created a custom electrical box to accommodate the new thermostat. The box's mounting holes and wiring hole are positioned according to my specific needs, so if you want to modify them for your own requirements, feel free to edit the Solidworks file.
