Automatic water-filler for solar fountain WIP
thingiverse
Constructed a solar fountain for my deck last year, but experienced issues with water evaporation. To resolve this, I'm currently working on an automatic filling system that connects to the garden drip system. The system uses a table tennis ball inside a tube; as the water level rises, the ball floats and halts the water flow, ensuring the fountain remains filled. This creation was designed using Tinkercad, with files available for online editing at https://tinkercad.com/things/afJaXz9ZcRJ. The system consists of two parts: a tube and a dome top. The inside of the dome is lined with plumber's putty, followed by the insertion of a table tennis ball for a snug fit. Next, the tube and dome are glued together. A hole in the dome's top accommodates a drip irrigation connector. Despite being a work-in-progress, as I have yet to connect it to the drip feed system for testing, results will be shared upon completion.
