Automatic Shower Door Opener
thingiverse
I wanted my shower door to be kept fully open automatically after showering. Good drying of the cabin prevents mould on the walls. I happen to have a design radiator next to my shower that has a bit of space behind it. So I designed a rope system that keeps the door open, powered by the gravity of a water bottle of 0.5 L dangling behind the radiator bars. Here you find the clip and guide I made. The clip is made for a glass door of 6 mm and radiator tube thickness of 27.3 mm. If you have a different size you can easily stretch the object to match your needs. Attach a nylon rope to the clip, lead it over the guide, fix it with some metal wire to the 0.5 L bottle filled with water, and Bob's your uncle! View the system in action below on YouTube.
