Automatic salt container
thingiverse
Making savory dishes relies heavily on salt, yet consuming excessive amounts can be detrimental to one's health. A specialized container is available for providing a measured amount of salt by positioning the spoon under its outlet. This particular model comes equipped with two magnets placed in both the container and the spoon. Crucially, these magnetic poles face opposite directions - either north-south (N-S) or south-north (S-N). When brought close together, a chain reaction unfolds: The internal plug retracts upwards due to repulsion forces between the magnets; the lower opening expands while simultaneously blocking the higher hole's exit. Upon removal of the spoon, gravitational pull slowly brings the retractable plug back down. This magnetic actuation relies on four millimeter by one and a half millimeter size magnet components, easily adaptable through changes in the provided STL file if necessary. Assembly involves simply connecting two parts with their complementary sections while ensuring the placement of a secure stop within the internal mechanism - typically achieved by placing it correctly in place as part of the design process.
