Automatic Plant Waterer 2

The automated DIY Auto Plant Waterer that I initially tested performed exceptionally well. I can achieve approximately one week to a month's worth of automatic watering for my large potted plant using an ocean spray juice bottle with a capacity of 1.89 liters. I designed a revised version of this DIY auto plant waterer, which I'm currently testing due to the success of the original design. By connecting it to a significantly larger container, I was able to successfully water my plants during my month-long vacation. **Instructions** To ensure that your potting soil has adequate moisture, start by filling the wick with water before initiating automatic watering using the wicking method. This will establish an ideal balance and minimize excess water usage. Take into consideration your plant's size and its accompanying container when deciding how much water is needed to prevent overwatering or underwatering. For my tests, a 1.89-liter bottle could sustain my plants for up to five days of automatic watering once the water reached approximately half of the bottle's capacity. As I fine-tuned this DIY auto plant waterer design to make it less bulky, I made some adjustments including a modified nozzle end and tube for the wick and also changed the overall device width. Furthermore, I included an adjustable cap for closure which will allow air to pass through when replacing used water with fresh one. However, be cautious not to completely close off the top, allowing proper air replacement at all times. Additional adjustments can be made according to container fit. A few bottle size adapters and a tube extension have also been provided, but make any necessary modifications by reviewing the included 3D files if necessary. **Required Materials** - One absorbent cotton wick with an extended length for absorbing water from the soil surface into the auto plant waterer device (about 4 cm deep into the soil is suggested). - An adequate-sized water container with a suitable attachment to support connecting the DIY plant waterer. and plenty of clean water for maintenance.
