After extending the competition by another month, I concluded that my initial submission was not worthy of a two-month contest, so I started designing this fully automated turret. This design requires no human intervention beyond turning it on and reloading the magazine when empty. First, Tobias Frank's turret design inspired me to adopt a similar pattern. Not only did his idea spark my creativity, but I also planned the entire mechanism from scratch. While coding was my responsibility, a friend lent a helping hand towards the end as time constraints began to bite. The basic operation involves rotating the turret 60° and using ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles. Once an obstacle is detected within a predetermined distance, thanks to the coding, the servo halts rotation and activates the flywheel. A stepper motor at the rear loads darts from the magazine into the flywheel, which then propels them outwards. As soon as the obstacle clears, the turret resumes its rotational state, seeking further obstacles.
