Automatic Fish Feeder Remixed
thingiverse
I took the automatic fish feeder that pefozzy created (thank you!) and tweaked it a little to fit the components I had on hand. Specifically, a NANO Arduino and a 9g micro servo (SG90) were used. Additionally, a cap for the food bowl was added. The design is still a work in progress and has yet to be fully tested with the 3mm hole for portion size for one beta. I hope to do this soon. My daughter's beta is close to her heart, and I'd like it kept alive while we go away for vacation, hopefully, this will do the trick. https://youtu.be/qMpVXPntwms With a slide for moisture mitigation: https://youtu.be/DxEfcEwWTCU Materials: - Nano Arduino (elegoo in my case) - 9g servo & servo horn - misc screws After some insight from the original designer on moisture potentially being a problem with the betta food clogging the hole. To help solve this problem, I've added a raised platform and food slide off at an angle for delivery. Hopefully, with the offset from the feeding opening, I won't see the food affected by moisture as much. Real fish testing still to be done. **Update** Positioned the slide over open water of the tank for food delivery for a week, the food didn't absorb any water in the hopper. It seems to be a success so far. The Arduino program for the nano is included in the files, the .ino file.
