Automatic Fish Feeder
thingiverse
An ongoing project, this automatic fish feeder uses an Arduino board that rotates the auger every 12 hours to feed fish. A manual override switch lets users feed fish any time. The previous cardboard feeder inspired a 3D-printed upgrade. Updates include an Arduino program and a YouTube video demonstrating its function, as well as source files for editing, available for download. Recently, an Arduino Nano board case was added to conceal wiring and components, with plans to secure the board without hot glue in future updates. The servo motor used is a 38-gram model from HobbyKing, while the lid hinge employs PLA filament. The circuit board within the servo was removed, and wires were soldered directly to the motor; the feeder utilizes a 5-volt supply from the Arduino board, a 3906 transistor, a LED, and a tactile switch for manual feeding.
