The project entails the development of an automated power hacksaw machine, designed for cutting metal to various sizes and lengths using a hacksaw. Its primary objective is to reduce manual labor and time spent on metal cutting, thereby enhancing productivity. With automation playing a crucial role in modern industries, this century's engineers strive to integrate it with innovative systems. In the automatic hacksaw machine, a crank and slotted lever mechanism (in two pairs) is employed along with the hacksaw. The entire mechanism operates under microcontroller control, cutting workpieces in multiple cycles based on their width measurements before stopping automatically. This advanced hacksaw machine features four hacksaw blades that can process four workpieces simultaneously and within a specific number of cycles, increasing productivity while minimizing human effort. Additionally, we aim to incorporate an affordable automatic pneumatic feeding system for enhanced cost-effectiveness.
