Automated Cat Feeder
thingiverse
This Android-powered automated cat feeder features a Python script run via SL4A on the phone, displaying a webcam feed and managing the feeder's schedule. Visit my blog at www.damonkohler.com/2010/11/android-automated-cat-feeder.html for more details, video, and code. To successfully print an STL file on a MakerBot, ensure proper orientation to fit the parts together. You'll need two back brackets and one front bracket. Attach the motor, drive shaft, and motor to the front bracket from inside before securing with the brackets. Printing the drive shaft requires a raft, while using comb and multiply for a 2x2 matrix yielded the best results. Note that the food chute is about 10cm high; adjust cereal dispenser height accordingly.
