Automated Aerial Duo-rotor Drone
sketchfab
A cutting-edge drone concept that pushed my propeller animation capabilities to the limit. This drone's design draws inspiration from the Syndrome Velocipods in The Incredibles, Vulture Droids from the Star Wars universe, and the innovative contra-rotating propellers of the Tupolev Tu-95 aircraft. Given early experiments with VTOL propeller craft, it's possible that a real-life version of this drone could take to the skies. However, attaching the rotating ring section to the main saucer frame poses significant design challenges - perhaps using an additional rotating ring or magnets would be the way forward. I brought this concept to life using Blender, crafting the model and textures with precision. The propeller chime sound was created in Audacity, while the textures feature solid colors and a high-resolution 2048x2048 normal map. Interestingly, some models on Sketchfab exhibit clipping issues when animations are applied, but this problem doesn't occur in Unreal Engine or Blender.
