Autolevel / Dual Alu Extruder carriage for printrbot plus
thingiverse
This is my latest extruder carriage design for my printrbot LC+ v1. It incorporates all those cutting-edge features you want, such as the ALU extruder and the auto bed level sensor. It prints together seamlessly with a .5mm nozzle and smaller nozzles might need looser part fittings. This version makes use of original hardware, aside from M3x20 screws holding the fans in place. The carriage mounts directly onto the 4-screw attachment point. NOTE: Be aware that this is far from perfect. The autolevel holder can only be mounted in a way that it obstructs your view of the probe and needs to be reworked. The back plate turned out slightly too tall, resulting in the top plate having bumps as a compensatory measure. Ideally, the back plate should be precisely sized so the top plate can remain flat. A revised design for the back plate is on my radar. Instructions: This design will work with either dual extruders or auto level and one extruder. If you position an extruder in a way that puts the motor on the left side, you'll have to compile and flash your firmware by yourself, adjusting the motor feed direction. I took on this task - it was tedious. It's worth it; I'd suggest simply mounting it so the motor is on the right.
