Auto Sentry Turret
thingiverse
I had to design a turret for an upcoming project, and here's what I came up with. All STL files are included, along with a Blender file if you need to make any modifications to fit your own designs. When I build it, I'll post some pictures. Currently, I'm running low on plastic - we all know how that goes. This turret uses two 28BYJ-48 motors from eBay, which I'm waiting for to arrive from China. Some notes: the scale of each object really depends on your slicing program. In Slic3r, I scale the parts to 10000%, while in Cura, I have to scale them to 0.1 - these are the only two slicers I've worked with. To assemble this correctly, you'll need three ABEC-3 ball bearings: two for the Y pivot and one for the X rotator. That's why those holes are so big - they're sized to press-fit the bearings in place. I used motor brackets from a different project, but haven't printed them yet, so I don't know how well they'll fit. I was inspired by the base design from this thing on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:953753. The gears are from the Involute Gear script: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5505. Unfortunately, gear meshing might be a bit rough because I haven't figured out the best way to determine it in Blender yet - any suggestions would be appreciated!
With this file you will be able to print Auto Sentry Turret with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Auto Sentry Turret.
