Remake of the 3D Printed Marble Machine #2 - Designed by Tulio Laanen including a continuous operation system powered by a small stepper motor (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:795952). https://youtu.be/pe5QDOH1b50 A new base was added to house the motor, lights and electronics, which provides an organized and efficient setup. The remake also includes a small drawer for storing metal balls when they're not in use, making maintenance a breeze. A new cap is used instead of the original turning blade, offering improved performance and reliability. The lift mechanism was modified to accommodate the motor and the cap, ensuring smooth operation and easy handling. Although the track remains unaltered, it must be manually adapted to fit the motor and lights. This involves drilling precise holes - 9.5 mm in diameter through the base at the center of the lift housing for the motor and multiple 5 mm holes to accommodate the LED's. A cost-effective yet efficient stepper motor, the 28BYJ-48, is used for continuous operation. It's fixed securely with super-glue to the track base for stability and durability. The electronics are designed with simplicity in mind: a PIC 16F628A programmed to generate sequenced pulses for four different channels - connected directly to the motor driver ULN2003 - along with separate power sources (7.5 V, 300 mA) for the PIC, motor driver, and LED's. Print Settings Rafts: Not Necessary Supports: Optional Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30% Notes: For optimal results, print the lift with a 10 mm raft for better adhesion and durability.
