Auto-Close Hinge for M6 Socket Head Screws
thingiverse
I modified Airald's self-closing hinge to work seamlessly with M6 socket head screws in both left and right-hand configurations. The shrinkage of PLA, which I'm utilizing for this project, necessitates a 2-3% scaling up, ensuring a precise fit. Initially, I wasn't clear on the fact that you can simply employ a piece of filament as the hinge pin with remarkable results. By using a soldering iron or heated nailhead to melt each end slightly and flatten it out, you'll prevent it from falling out. The strength of the resulting design will undoubtedly surprise you.
