This tool helps pinpoint the exact middle of a board's edge. Simply position two pins on either side of the board and insert a pencil or a nail into the central hole. Then, drag the device across the board to locate its absolute center. One model uses a pencil to mark the spot, while another features a small nail that is driven through it, leaving a slight protrusion to leave a visible mark in the wood.
