Aurora A3 RPi Print Bed Camera Mount
thingiverse
Want to make crazy nausea-inducing time-lapse videos? I do! This is a Raspberry Pi Camera Mount designed specifically for the Aurora A3 Printer. The camera attaches to the print bed's bottom aluminum supporting plate, not the heated plate. As the print bed moves, so does the camera, maintaining the same distance from the object being printed at all times. You get clear, crisp timelapses of your print objects while everything else blurs around them, inducing nausea and dizziness. What fun! You can watch a demo on a small object here: https://youtu.be/uIMhfqWRs-Y There are two clips designed to slide into the bottom plate at a 30-degree angle and lock into place with a wing nut. WARNING - this will raise or lower that corner of the print bed by about .03mm, so adjust accordingly. The camera posts, Left and Right, are twisted 5 degrees to realign the image to the center of the print bed. The Extension can be printed multiple times and linked together for larger objects, moving the camera farther away. If you mount this on the left side (same as the Zero position), use at least one extension to avoid crashing into the print head during Homing and breaking something! You've been warned - no responsibility is assumed. A long ribbon cable for the Pi Camera is also necessary to allow it to travel with the print bed; I used a 500mm one for mine. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: JG Aurora A3 Prusa I3 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 15% Notes: Rafts or Brims are required for the Clips and Posts due to their small bases. For best results, print the Clips oriented without supports (which can be a pain to clean out). Post-Printing Some filing may be necessary unless your prints produce sharp corners, as you'll need to fill in the male connectors of the Posts and Extensions. The slot for the Pi Camera is tight but loosens up with use.
