This is my third wall art in the President's day freedom print week, I will post a new piece of art every day that advocates for People's rights and freedoms across the Globe. I will be posting a lot about the events that have unfolded in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia in the last year. I wish to show people the atrocities of China and I STRONGLY advocate for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, Xinyang, Myanmar, and everywhere people have to fear for their lives whenever they speak out against the government. Activate to edit the task name Description Last year, the hopes of the Burmese people were put on the ropes when the military tore down all the strides of democracy by declaring a state of emergency. 'States of Emergency', 'National Emergency', 'Political Crisis': All these words have been used by militaries across the globe to force their power upon the government. Sadly, Myanmar was the latest example of this. Last year, the nation looked hopeful as they started to move away from their dictatorial past, and the people felt more passionate about their democracy than the military. this was reflected in their Parlament (Forgive me if it is not called the parliament), where the military gained the bare minimum amount of seats they are required to have. The military, however, cared more about themselves than their nation. Due to their devastating loss, they declared a 'State of emergency', going to the capital and arresting government officials like they were nobles during the reign of terror. Included in this purge of the people who 'treated the security of the Myanmarian government was Aung San Suu Kyi, a leader in Myanmar's push for democracy. They brought tanks and armed men into the city as if they were invaders ready to strip a nation of its wealth, it's no surprise they called it a state of emergency. Within a few days, most of its government was in jail or simply disappeared off the globe, no surprise why they called a state of emergency. A malicious lady had come to strip the military of their grip on the country, and give the people essential liberties that had not been available to them beforehand, thank god they called a state of emergency. You can call it anything you wish, however, there are times when tanks running through the streets, armed men bursting into people's homes like Kristallnacht, and then carrying out people who you entrusted to protect you from the very force that carried them away will stand out more than a press conference The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear
