I'm new to electronics, so I'm sure the logic could be improved substantially. That's why I challenge you who are reading this to make your own version even smaller than mine. The circuits are color-coded as follows: Red, positive power Black, negative power Gold, ground Blue, transistor Green, other components For the micro LED display I made, you will need: 7 LEDs (the ones I used were ultrabright green with a luminance from 2.7v-3.0v) 5 2N3904 3 SN3906 3 100uf polarized capacitors 1 4.7uf polarized capacitor 1 0.47uf polarized capacitor 1 0.01uf ceramic capacitor 1 0.001uf ceramic capacitor 1 5k or smaller potentiometer 5 1N4004 diodes 1 1N4148 Zenerdiode 6 10kohm resistors 5 100ohm resistors 3 2.2kohm resistors 1 180ohm resistor 1 270ohm resistor 1 male and/or female audio jack 1 9volt battery and connector The larger display has two amplifier circuits in series to boost the signal coming from source. However, its omitted from the micro design simply because despite remaking the circuit exactly how it was laid out in the larger design, save for being more compact, I couldn't manage to get the signal to pass all the way through the circuit. However, the larger design does work with how it is laid out now. You can find the parts needed for the larger design on the schematic. Some resistors may require fiddling to get the audio splitter to work how you expect. Leave enough length on the legs of the LEDs to bend them so that they can slot into the case holes easily as the position on the board does not line up exactly with the holes in the case. You will need to sand down the edges of the case plate and battery plate as they have a very tight fit.
