This is a high-definition model of the Augusta Westland EH101 Merlin, featuring both Portugal Air Force and RAF texture sets. The interior is included, along with animateable side and rear doors. Both texture sets come equipped with Photoshop templates, allowing users to easily derive their own textures or modify markings. In 1977, the UK Ministry of Defence issued a requirement for a new anti-submarine warfare helicopter to replace the Royal Navy's Westland Sea Kings. In response, Westland developed the WG.34 design, which was approved for development. Meanwhile, the Italian Navy sought a replacement for its Agusta-built Sea Kings, prompting discussions between Agusta and Westland about joint development. These talks culminated in November 1979 with the formation of EH Industries, a joint venture company tasked with managing the project. The following year, EH Industries became responsible for overseeing the design studies, which eventually led to the creation of a more generalised aircraft capable of meeting the needs of various customers and applications. After several years of development, the first prototype took flight on October 9, 1987. Today, EH Industries is no longer in operation, having been absorbed into its parent company following a merger.
