August WiFi Lock Switch Adapter
thingiverse
Thanks to skore87 for the basic August Smart Lock Deadbolt Adapter. We have a multi-building facility that uses August locks for access control. A new building does not have any residential-style doors that can accommodate an August lock, so I needed a way to use an August lock to activate an industrial electronic door lock -- in this case, an electric door strike. It just needed to be able to switch 12VDC. This thing provides a physical interface between a 4th Gen August WiFi Smart Lock and a rotary key switch. It replaces the mounting plate for the August lock, and uses a modified version of skore87's adapter to turn the key. It can be mounted on a wall, needs a 1.5" hole in wood or sheetrock with a wood backplate, or hidden in a box. If you mount it right next to the door, you might be able to get DoorSense to work, but I haven't tested this. I suspect you would probably need to use a fairly strong rare-earth magnet on the door in close proximity to the lock. Yes, it's a little bit Rube Goldberg, but it works. I've included STEP files, so you can modify as needed.
