I encountered an unusual issue where the outer ring of the locking mechanism was slightly too wide, causing the adapter to slide right out. This typically happened when the door was shut a bit too firmly. To address this problem, I inserted a ring that fit snugly within the lock and extended far enough to prevent the adapter from slipping through the opening. Additionally, I lengthened the deadbolt to better distribute torque when the lock was turned. Credit goes to the original designer for creating an adaptable solution. Hopefully, someone else will find this modification helpful in resolving their own issues with similar locking mechanisms.
