I bought my Audi TT mk1 with a roof courtesy light holder that was completely loose. The trouble started when I noticed two locking pins pointing to the rear of the car. I printed out two more holders and glued them in place using 5-minute epoxy. That's enough to hold the back part of the holder secure and insert the springs into the front.
