Unbridled power lurking in sleek coupe design: Audi RS5 to debut at 2010 Geneva Auto Show. A high-revving 4.2-liter V8 unleashes potent performance while achieving exceptional fuel efficiency. Power transmission to all four wheels is facilitated by seven-speed S tronic and innovative center differential in the quattro drivetrain. Developed by quattro GmbH, RS models represent Audi's dynamic flagship lineup. The Audi RS5 joins a prestigious tradition spanning over 15 years from the RS2 Avant: exceptional handling in the mid-size class. A close relative of the V10 engine powering high-performance Audi R8 sports car, the high-revving V8 delivers impressive output from 4,163 cm3 displacement. Like nearly every Audi gasoline engine, this one utilizes direct fuel injection known as FSI technology. This same innovation propelled the Audi R8 racing car to four triumphs at Le Mans. Intensive fine-tuning of the dual-branch intake and exhaust system enables the undersquare engine to breathe freely; four adjustable camshafts and tumble flaps in the intake manifold facilitate mixture formation. The 4.2 FSI provides powerful torque and excels even at high revs – almost like a racing engine. The engine produces 450 hp at 8,250 rpm and transmits a maximum of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. Visit the model page on our website for additional services.
