Bezel for the Audi R8. It's best printed in ABS because an automobile can get extremely hot inside and that would be detrimental to PLA. This print is specifically designed to be fitted with the "Autostereo 180 x 103mm Universal Double DIN Installation Slot Metal Car Stereo Radio Mounting Frame 2DIN Universal Car Radio Adapter In-Dash Mounting Frame Complete Fitting Kit" available at amazon.com. The mentioned DIN kit is a standard kit. If Autostereo does not have it, the exact kit is also sold under other brands. When purchasing the DIN kit, make sure the dimensions are precise to ensure a perfect fit. Apr 29-2019 update: The new file features a 1mm larger opening which will work nicely with vinyl wraps and so on. I also removed the badge cutout as most of you do not want it. Please note that this entire print depends on exactly the DIN kit I recommended, because as you can see on the print there isn't much material left for the frame. Autostereo is only one distributor of this kit but there are many others available at a low price. Version 2 now published: I made the DIN opening 1mm wider and taller because after vinyl wrapping the opening, the frame fit was too tight and difficult to install. This print can be oriented in any direction you want, but for better results, flip it 180 degrees. May 1 -2019 version. This update includes an RHD bezel which I cannot test, so please let me know if it fits perfectly. In addition, the print is modified so that it prints straight up instead of the back being on top and the badge recess is removed. May 5, 2019 version. The kit has been completely redesigned with a head unit that tilts three degrees for better fit and less glare from the head unit in the sun. Note that large head units will not clear the bottom inside the console. The face now features soft curvature making it flow and fit better and added .8mm fillets, so the part can also be CNC machined properly and .step CNC files are available too. May 9, 2019 version: The opening has been moved two millimeters sideways and minor contour changes have made a tighter fit with less gaps in some areas.
