Audi B2 B3 sway bar bushing press tools
thingiverse
If you need to change the front sway bar bushings for your B2 or early B3 Audi, then you may have found these nice upgraded stiffness units from 034Motorsports (no affiliation) https://store.034motorsport.com/sway-bar-end-link-density-line-early-small-chassis-audi.html https://store.034motorsport.com/sway-bar-bushing-control-arm-side-track-density-audi-small-chassis.html they are, however very stiff and difficult to insert. I made these press tools to squish the bushing down to the right size. I used them in my bench vice with an appropriate sized socket to press with, and an appropriate sized spacer socket on the opposite side. I heated the bushings in boiling water for a few minutes to soften them up and applied white lithium grease to lube everything up. Very helpful to have a second set of hands to line everything up while the other operates the vice. There is one tool for the sway bar end, and another too for the bushings in the control arm. They have cutouts on the side for a gear puller to allow for removal after the one side has been pressed through. They worked well so I thought I would share. I printed at 100% infill with PETG and they lasted for both sides, but probably won't be good for another use. But that's all I needed. I would have taken pictures but my workspace is embarrassingly messy. Operation should be obvious, when considering the above information.
