Audi Avant Hazard Triangle Latch

Audi Avant Hazard Triangle Latch

thingiverse

The latch that secures the hazard triangle compartment on my B6 A4 Avant had given way. Unlike others where the catch malfunctions, the knob on mine cracked. It had been previously repaired with adhesive, so instead of re-gluing it only for it to fail soon I decided to utilize my 3D printer. So I used GrMechEng's assembly which comprises three components, the catch, shaft, and knob. The catch lacks a tab like the original Audi part that restricts rotation to 90 degrees. However, matthewlaberge's design of the catch retains this feature. Thankfully, he uploaded the STEP file, so I was able to modify it to accommodate the shaft from the other design. Assembly: 1. Apply adhesive to hole in knob and insert shaft. 2. Slip knob and shaft through hole in Audi cover. 3. Connect catch using a M3 flathead screw, the hole in the shaft is sized appropriately. If necessary, it can be drilled out slightly. Done! Note: The shaft may need to be scaled down slightly to ensure a snug fit.
