I designed a basic model to serve as an insert for the front-center armrest of my new Audi A5 Sportback (B8). It offers a flat surface that accommodates larger smartphones, which otherwise don't fit. You can also tuck away your charging cables or audio cables beneath it. My build fits seamlessly within the space in the car. After applying 1 mm thick felt to the top and sides, it holds its place very securely and it's tough to detect that it's a homemade creation. To detach it or access the area underneath, I simply pull on the cable that's routed through an opening (as shown in the pictures).
